ForwardTreating Reticular and Spider Veins: Liquid Sclerotherapy, Visual Sclerotherapy with Foam, All in All It’s Just Another Brick in the Wall – OHMIC Treatment of Spider Veins or Reticular Veins (SCLE2012-03)
This activity will provide an overview of testing options for reticular and spider veins; liquid sclerotherapy and visual sclerotherapy with foam treatments; and OHMIC treatment of reticular and spider veins. The intent of this activity is to improve the learners’ competency and performance through this overview of testing and treatments for reticular and spider veins.
Steps to Successfully Complete This Activity
To participate in this educational activity please follow the steps listed below.

- Participants must score 80% or greater on the Post-Test to advance and receive credit. They are given three attempts to meet this threshold.
- Track your progress using the Course Progress menu.

Target Audience
The content of this activity is designed to meet the needs of the following target audience: phlebologists, general surgeons, vascular surgeons, interventional radiologists, interventional cardiologists, vascular medicine practitioners, dermatologists, dermatologic surgeons, family practice and internal medicine practitioners, plastic surgeons, obstetricians and gynecologists, cardiologists, and any other healthcare professional currently or planning on treating patients with venous disease.
Learning Objectives
As a result of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Decide if foam enhances outcomes for reticular and spider vein sclerotherapy over liquid.
- Assess if newly introduced OHMIC techniques for spider vein elimination are best for your practice without further comparrison of sclerotherapy.
- Select ablation techniques based on the size and anatomy of the veins to be eliminated.
