Possible Projects
Below is a list of possible projects to be completed over the course of the year. Participants can choose from the list or design their own.
- Create and implement a drive to educate and recruit members to participate in the ACP PRO Venous Registry
- Create a webinar or online program to educate and assist members in doing good research, including information on statistics, how to obtain IRB approval, etc.
- Update the existing speaker bureau talk.
- Proactively monitor insurance policy changes and develop mechanism to advocate for change.
- Develop a Patient Education Brochure (or document) to explain to patients about Insurance processes and procedures (co-pays, deductibles, etc.)
- Create a detailed history of the ACP – this could be a book, ppt or video.
- The ABC’s of DVT: create an educational module on the prevention and early treatment of DVT and Post-Thrombotic Syndrome aimed at patients, professionals, payers and non venous societies.
- Create a lecture, webinar or online program on tips for developing a great lecture
- Create a program to foster opportunities to help underserved communities in the U.S. gain access to free care for venous disease or specifically venous ulcers (like international medical missions – but here in the U.S.)
- Create a packet of information for members to use in communicating with insurance companies about coverage – this would include evidence-based data on the natural history of venous disease, treatment options, relevance of duplex findings, etc.
- Create a white paper on documentation practices to avoid insurance audits and reviews
- Create a series of patient education videos to display in phlebology offices
