PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY: A very well-established single-specialty group with four cardiologists is seeking to expand their already large vascular medicine service. They want to hire another physician to function as a Vascular Medicine physician, primarily dealing with workup and treatment of varicose veins. One of their cardiologists, who specializes in vascular medicine and phlebology, is extremely busy and needs assistance with the high volume of patients and studies to read. This is a 100% outpatient and office based opportunity. There is no call, no weekend hours and no hospital work. Initially, the new physician will primarily see new patients and do follow ups regarding vascular disease problems (i.e., peripheral arterial diseases and varicose veins). She/he will also need to read vascular studies -- arterial dopplers and venous duplex. If needed, on-the-job training will be provided. Specifically, over the next two years and if so desired by this physician, she/he would be trained by their interventional/peripheral cardiologist to do in-office venous ablation procedures and sclerotherapy.
