American College of Phlebology Grants are Available

Amount:$24,000 to $70,000

Research-In-Practice Grant

($24,000 for 12 months)
For clinical phlebologists who wish to initiate a clinical research project of importance to phlebology.

Research Trainee Grant

($45,000 for 12 months)
For young investigators in graduate-level medical or research programs who are not yet professionally established in the phlebological sciences and wish to gain insight into scientific investigation in the field of phlebology.

Junior Faculty Investigator Grant

($70,000 for 12 months)
For junior faculty, typically at institutions of higher learning, with a career interest in phlebology research to initiate a basic, pre-clinical, or pilot clinical research project of importance to the field of phlebology. Associate professors and full professors are not eligible, and applicants must not have received major grant support exceeding $50,000.

de Groot Clinical Fellowship is open for Applicants

U.S. Physicians are eligible for the de Groot Clinical Fellowship.

The applicant for the clinical fellowship must be a member in good standing of the ACP. The applicant needs to submit a detailed outline of his/her proposed course of study, the skills or techniques desired to acquire or enhance, names of the phlebologists proposed to observe, the dates of observation, and whether or not there will be didactic or hands on experience provided during the course of study. The applicant must also provide a letter of recommendation and or acknowledging that the applicant has a keen interest in phlebology and will represent the standards set forth by ACP in the treatment of vein disease. Additionally, de Groot applicant should have never been awarded any other type of ACP Training Scholarship.

For example, last year's winner went to the UIP meeting in Monaco and toured some of our French Member's facility. What a great way to share and learn!

Those applicants who are awarded the $2500 award, must also agree to submit a 10 minute abstract at an Annual Congress. This abstract and/or presentation will also be posted on the web and in the VeinLine e-Newsletter.
