ACP Headlines

This summer, the ACP announced its new scholarship program providing up to forty scholarships to attend the 22nd Annual Congress in Marco Island, Florida this November. Through funding provided by the ACP Foundation, the ACP now has a scholarship fund intended to provide exposure and generate interest in the field of phlebology.

Up to forty (40) awards will be granted to residents, fellows, and junior faculty members. The award, up to
$1,500, can be used for meeting-related expenses (including airfare, registration fees, hotel, ground transportation, and meals) at the College’s 22nd Annual Pre-Congress and Congress to be held November 6-9, 2008 in Marco Island, Florida.

The award also includes a one-year “Member-In-Training” membership option which allows scholarship
recipients to continue to receive exposure to phlebology after the Congress through subscriptions to Phlebology, Venous Digest, and VeinLine; access to the printed and online Membership Directory; and increased networking opportunities available through our membership. The College and the Foundation are excited about the potential of this new initiative to improve young physician educational efforts, exposure to venous disease, and ultimately, patient care.

Eligible candidates include residents in ACGMEapproved or AOA-approved residency programs, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty members (within their first two years of appointment).

The scholarships will be administered by the ACP.
