Physician-in-Training Scholarship
Through funding provided by the ACP Foundation, the ACP is offering up to forty scholarships to residents, fellows, and junior faculty members. Medical students will be considered as well. This $1500 award will cover Congress Registration (Reduced rate of $450 for scholars), leaving $1050 for the scholarship recipient to use towards air, hotel, food and other meeting expenses. This is a great way for physicians to learn about venous disease and how to treat veins. When approved, scholars will receive a $1050 check at the Annual Congress. All scholars will be responsible for making and pre-paying for their travel and accomodations.
The 2011 Annual Congress will be in Los Angeles, CA at the LA LIVE Marriott! Please visit our Congress website for program details.
The scholarship also includes a one-year "Member-In-Training" membership option which allows scholarship recipients to continue to receive exposure to phlebology after the Congress through online subscriptions to Phlebology, In the Veint, and VeinLine; access to the online Membership Directory; and increased networking opportunities.
Eligible candidates include residents in ACGME-approved or AOA-approved residency programs, post-doctoral fellows, and junior faculty members in the first two years of appointment.
"The ACP conference gave me the opportunity to see many techniques and advances in vein care that I would not have been exposed to any other way. I gained a new appreciation for the complexities of the disease processes and related patient care."
~Dr. Mark Tiede, Scholarship Recipient
