ACP Preceptorship Program
Overview of Program
The ACP Phlebology Preceptorship Program has been designed to improve public health by facilitating the matching of healthcare providers with phlebologists so that healthcare providers can receive individual training with phlebologists in a clinical setting. The goal is to enhance the provider’s knowledge in specific areas that the provider feels he/she needs. In no way does the Preceptorship Program substitute for basic knowledge and it does not credential the provider in any manner.

- The applicant will request or download an application form from the ACP headquarters or web site.
- Application will be submitted to the ACP headquarters.
- ACP staff will check the application for completeness. Once complete, the questionnaire will be forwarded to the preceptor pre-selected by the trainee.
- The preceptor will conduct a telephone interview with the trainee and will be responsible for completing an application interview form which will be submitted to the ACP headquarters.
- After the phone interview, the preceptor will sign off (in his or her discretion) on the approval or disapproval of the applicant. If approved, the preceptor will indicate if the applicant has accepted the offer for preceptorship training and when the training will commence and the expected date of completion. If not approved, the information will be relayed back to the trainee so they can choose a different preceptor or withdraw their application.
- The ACP headquarters will then notify the applicant in writing of their acceptance into the Preceptorship Program. An invoice will be provided which will need to be paid in full at least 10 days before training is to begin.

The fees listed below will be paid by the trainee to the ACP. The ACP will then send a check for the appropriate amount to the Preceptor (after the training has occurred) less a $200 administrative fee per trainee.
